I’ve felt so lost for the past year.

I’ve invested £000s into coaching throughout my business and a few months ago I was still feeling like a pretty shitty business owner.

So I took a step back from the coaching containers I was in. Started reaaally paying attention to the things that bring me joy in life. What I was doing when I felt like “today’s been a good day.” Thought about the fact I’ve been paying my own salary for multiple years.

And I pretty quickly realised how content & capable I already was.

When I stopped listening to the external noise of what I could be achieving or should be aiming for … I quickly saw that I’m pretty happy where I am.

I care less about the money milestones and more about whether I know what my friends are up to, or when I last saw my baby niece.

Being a business owner doesn’t HAVE to be all-consuming. (although absolutely cheering you on if you’ve got big plans to scale & grow 💅)

But if you don’t see your dreams being celebrated and shouted about in the online space, if you’ve been made to feel like your dreams of balance are unambitious or ‘playing small’ then … you found your cheerleader.

Give yourself the gift of DECIDING 🫶

If I wanna binge all of Rivals Season 2 within 3 evenings or spend Sunday night eating Italian food with my in-laws instead of prepping for the week ahead like I told myself I would …

I’ve gotta be realistic with the results that come with that.

(And by the way, you’re allowed that. You’re allowed to just do your job and log off if that’s what you want to do)

For a long time, I beat myself up. I’d tell myself “I’ll work this evening” and then kick myself when I got into bed and all I’d done is watch Taskmaster and cook tea with my partner. I’d tell myself I was a terrible business owner for not growing the business at the speed I’d seen others grow theirs.

But it’s SO unproductive to think that way. And it breaks your self-trust.

Because the people I was comparing myself to, I wasn’t living their life. And honestly most of the time I didn’t want to swap places with them either.

So why was I comparing? Berating myself for not achieving results I wasn’t even doing the work to get?

Silly.

I decided to get honest with myself and stop consuming content like I didn’t see those differences.

I can see the work others are doing that I’m not. The marketing tactics they’re using that I’m not.

Neither is right or wrong, just different. But for your sanity, figure out how you want to do business (whether that’s just this season or indefinitely) and own that 💖

There’s so many more versions of success than the extremes we often see of constant growth or slow morning routines.

On social media you’re only ever going to see a % of someone’s reality. You may not see their struggles, sacrifices & the years of effort that have gone in to getting where they are now. Or the village of people supporting them behind the scenes.

So stay focused on what success is for YOU.

So yeah, client work stops when she does. But she’s having her strongest year yet doing the work SHE chooses to, earns more than a corporate job would pay & never misses a school run.

In short, Rach is crystal clear on HER version of success. She runs her business to suit HER.

And in an online business bubble of shoulds and shaming, I could not be more in awe 💅

Finding the JOY in the everyday 💖

In March this looked like big, special, milestone memories such as seeing friends doing their thing and crushing it & wedding crafting with my momma.

But it was also smiling at the green man and adding a touch of ✨whimsy✨ to a weeknight tea.
